Ferrets are playful, mischievous, entertaining little animals who can bring endless enjoyment to a family. They are very sociable animals and can make wonderful pets! They are cuddly, interactive, spunky pets who can be great for owners who have time to take them out of their cages every day and play with them. Though ferret owners tend to adore their pets, and many can’t stop at having just one, ferrets aren’t right for everyone. There are a few things you should know to decide if that's the right pet for you.

Ferrets are very high maintenance pets! Before you bring this little fluffy ball of energy to your house you should think if you have enough time and resources to take care of a ferret. They require At Least! 2 hours of play time outside of their cage every day. Failing to provide play time for your ferrets will result in "cage rage" which can be very frustrating for owners and dangerous for ferrets.

Ferrets are expensive pets! They require high quality food that usually costs a lot. They are also prone to health issues and require annual wellness examinations and vaccines with ferret acknowledged vet.

Ferrets are highly social pets and require lots of socialization with their owners and other ferrets, so may owners make a decision to get more then one ferret.

They also tend to get into everything and you will need to ferret prove the area for your house where they can roam safely.

There are many things to take into account before making a decision about adding a new pet in your family. If you are looking for energetic pet, that will be your companion for next 7 to 10 years, ferret might be a right pet for you!
